The Washington Metropolitan High School, formerly the Youth Engagement Academy (YEA), opened its doors in August 2008. We are a diverse urban District of Columbia Public School serving students in the nation’s capital. Situated at the center of national government, our school’s goal is to provide students with a quality education that prepares them to become future leaders, productive citizens, and employers/employees who are engaged in the life of the community. We pride ourselves by educating one student at a time. Thus, each student is able to master the curriculum via his/her interests, background and learning styles.
