Mission Statement: Together with parents and the community, El Camino Real Academy (ECRA) is committed to creating a professional learning community that empowers students to learn the interconnection between real-world problem solving and academic success, leading to mastery of life skills and recognition of the patterns that are intrinsic to all knowledge.

Our Commitment: We are committed to empowering the students to become invested in their own learning process, and using data and research to make decisions, drive instruction and continuous improvement systems. We have established a professional learning community and school culture that invites and fosters family and community participation. In addition, our school culture promotes an environment that encourages students to feel safe in risk-taking, problem solving, critical thinking, active learning, and partnerships in learning. We believe:

• In frequent and on-going assessment so teachers always know student’s current academic level and can utilize the knowledge to plan daily lessons,
• In differentiated instruction for all students – we pay attention to where each child is in the learning process,
• In curriculum aligned to state standards and exceeding the standards, in critical thinking and problem solving,
• In hands-on activities and projects, In authentic learning – linking learning with real-life activities and situations,
• In student ownership of learning,
• And in continuous improvement school-wide, at all levels, both in the classroom and individually.
