Latest News from the San Diego Met!
The San Diego Met High School has been named a CA Distinguished School by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell. The state’s annual award ceremony for exemplary public schools will be held at the end of May in Anaheim. Congratulations, students and staff of the San Diego Met!
On March 4, 2004, the San Diego Unified School Board of Education formalized a partnership with the San Diego Community College District and Big Picture Learning for the establishment of the San Diego Metropolitan Regional Career and Technical High School. We are an alternative middle college high school located on the campus of San Diego Mesa College.
The mission of San Diego Met is to prepare students for college and the workforce through active learning, academic rigor, and community involvement. Relationships, relevance, and rigor provide a unique opportunity for students to excel in a nurturing yet challenging academic environment which is closing the achievement gap for our students.
We have established a strong culture of college access and success for all of our students. Our accomplishments include excellent attendance rates in a comprehensive college preparatory environment which resulted in our first graduating class having a 100% pass rate on the CAHSEE, 98% completion of A-G requirements and 98% of our first graduates attending a two or four year college or university. We have met and surpassed our API/AYP targets every year.
