Terra Nova High School is a small school supported by both the Northwest Regional Education Service District and the Beaverton School District. Enrollment is currently projected at 80 students in 9th to 12th grade, and expected to grow, but will not exceed 160 students. We are Big Picture School that provides a personalized learning environment for each student.
Terra Nova grew out of the spirit of two programs previously offered by the NWRESD, the Cascade Education Corps and the Outdoor Leadership Program. These outdoor, environmental education programs gave students training and hands on experience in leadership, teaching, and environmental issues. This real world learning provided students with an opportunity to develop personal, team building and problem solving skills. Click here to view our Community Farm website!
At Terra Nova, students work closely with their advisors and parents to develop learning plans that fit both their interests and their goals, while meeting state and district education standards. Internships (LTIs) are a large part of the learning plan as students can spend up to 2 days a week at their internship sites. Working with their mentors, internships are designed to provide students with real world learning in their areas of interest, as well as to develop projects to meet their education goals and requirements.
