Big Picture Film Festival

Following the success of the last year's inaugural Big Picture Learning Film Festival, Lafayette Big Picture High School is pleased to announce that it will continue this new tradition established by graduate Caleb Gretsky! This year's film festival will be hosted by Lafayette sophomores Jamus Killian and Josh Klimsa. In anticipation of this year's event -- to be held on Friday, April 13th, 2018 -- Jamus and Josh are asking that any Big Picture Learning network student consider submitting a film to this year's festival. This year's theme will be Scary Comedy.

If you have an interest or a passion for filmmaking, than this competition is for you! However, before submitting your film, please consider the following rules and regulations for festival entries:

  • Your film must be at least 5 minutes, but cannot exceed 25 minutes in length.
  • Your film may not contain copyrighted material, such as music or images.
  • No nudity of explicit gore will be allowed, nor will the explicit use of profanity be permitted.
Should you decide to participate in this year's festival, please upload your short film to vimeo and email the video link to  20kiljam@lafayetteschools.org. If your film is chosen, we encourage you to consider attending the festival as our guest. The submission deadline for the festival is April 6th, 2018. If you are interested, have and questions, or plan on participating, please email us so that we know how many entries to expect. Thank you and good luck!

WE WOULD LOVE YOUR HELP SPREADING THE WORD! PLEASE DOWNLOAD THIS FLYER, POST IT AT YOUR SCHOOL, AND SHARE IT WIDELY SO THAT YOUR BURGEONING FILMMAKERS KNOW ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY!
