Big Picture Learning Gets ... Bigger!

Big Picture Learning's national and international presence continues to grow. As a result, so too does our national team. We're happy to introduce you to the newest members of the Big Picture Learning family, who join us not so long after our next most recent expansion

Brenda Rodriguez, Chief Financial Officer, most recently oversaw College Bound Dorchester’s finance strategy, compliance, and operations, including Accounting & Finance, Budgeting, Technology and Facilities. She brings experience in financial reporting, internal controls and process improvement (in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors) to Big Picture. Brenda started her career in public accounting at Price Waterhouse Cooper, moving on to various finance leadership roles at the New York Times Company and as the head of finance for Boston.com. Prior to College Bound Dorchester, Brenda was a Principal at The CFO Center. She currently serves as Treasurer for Harbor Health Services, a $70M community health organization serving over 28,000 patients. Brenda holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University, and an MBA from Duke University.

Brenda shares: "I’m ecstatic to join Big Picture Learning to accelerate the growth and impact of our new initiatives, and help scale operations that meet increased business demands.  I’m most excited about helping to drive BPL’s strategy with a team of learners and achievers committed to doing the same."

Beth White joins Big Picture Learning as the Vermont Special Design Coach.  Prior to her work with Big Picture Learning, Beth worked in a variety of New England schools, including The Met High School in Providence, RI (aka the “mother ship” of the Big Picture Learning Network). Ten years of questions that extended beyond the classroom propelled Beth to pursue a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Vermont. Beth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic, a Master of Science in Environmental Studies with New Hampshire teaching certificates in biology and earth and space sciences.

Beth shares what it's like to (re)join the BPL team: "The Big Picture Learning team clocks hundreds of hours transforming schooling as we know it.  The idea is simple—to structure learning experiences around students’ interests.  The byproduct of this work is profound and it’s healing communities.  I couldn’t be more thrilled to join this talented team of changemakers to advance personalized learning throughout Vermont and beyond."
