BPL Leadership Conference 2018

Big Picture Learning’s school and district leaders are among the most passionate and dedicated educators impacting the lives of students today. But every year, new issues – coming both from within their own schools as well as the halls of local and national policy makers – put them back on their heels. This is important, because it helps network leaders balance expertise with humility.

We enter each school year with a new found energy, an excitement to greet new faces and tackle the challenges of the world anew. Around December, when our annual gathering is usually held, network leaders and those just beyond are ready (and sometimes in desperate need) of a nourishing of mind, body, and spirit. The Big Picture Leadership conference is designed to do just that.

The power of our network helps us collectively recall that we are all in this together and, as such, we are one. Our work starts in the classroom but it ends when we have addressed the complex systemic issues that impact not only education but every aspect of our day to day lives.  Our conference mission: to leave rejuvenated and ready to activate an education system that – through student-directed, real-world learning – points to a better tomorrow.

Who should attend the Leadership Conference?
  • Principals, administrators and other leaders from schools within the Big Picture Learning network.
  • Leaders (principals, superintendents, etc.) from schools and districts considering implementing the Big Picture Learning design (or portions of it).
  • School and district leaders passionate about student-centered learning and education reform who want to learn from the experiences of Big Picture Learning staff and network leaders.
