Pam is an educator, researcher, and storyteller driven by the belief that students thrive when trusted to shape their own paths and define their own possibilities, both inside and outside of school. At the heart of her work is a conviction that meaningful transformation happens when we listen deeply to young people, to practitioners, and to communities, particularly those whose voices have too often been left out of the rooms where decisions get made. As BPL’s REDI Director, she leads the organization’s evidence and impact strategy, creating and curating evidence as a catalyst for reflection, storytelling, and continuous growth rather than mere compliance. She believes evidence is only as powerful as the stories it tells, the people it reaches, and the shifts it inspires.
Pam’s career spans classroom teaching, school leadership, and research-practice partnerships. She began teaching history and civics across public and charter schools to help youth understand their unique identities and voices and see themselves as changemakers. After earning her doctorate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education focused on political and civic education, school culture, and student agency, she joined the faculty of Massachusetts’ first Big Picture Learning school. She later consulted for BPL, leading research initiatives, supporting schools with internship programs and ImBlaze, and coaching educators through theIBPLC. This journey across daily school practice and systems research ensures her approach to data, assessment, and school design remains firmly rooted in the realities of educators and young people.
Pam also provides strategic leadership to establish the BPL Kenya US Board and chairs the Board of Trustees for the Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School. Pam lives in Harvard, Massachusetts with her family and dogs. Outside of her work, she loves traveling, hiking, biking, and outdoor adventures.
